DESIGN ETHOS


I believe design is best practiced in multi-disciplinary teams using iterative cycles of problem solving with a focus on the end-user.

Start with empathy. Define the solution space. Ideate profusely. Prototype to refine. And test the solution. The best part of designing like this is that it starts and ends with people.

For the past eight years I have worked with entrepreneurs, non-profits, musicians, corporations and marketing teams to find, develop, and implement solutions through an integrated and human-centered design process.

I've collaborated closely with them to help transform the way they understand who they are, talk about themselves, and are viewed in the world.

  Synthesis from Design Sprints  Leading our leadership team through a modified design sprint, we were able to begin solving business challenges such as retention, recruitment, and brand equity by doing a deep-dive into user personas, behaviors, and goals.

  Customer Journey Mapping with Client  Understanding the context and touchpoints of the target audience for this musician was a critical part of the process to effectively sell his music through multiple digital mediums.

  Content Audit, Competitor Analysis, and Value Proposition  For this particular client in the coffee industry, coming up with a name was not only critical to success but would set a foundation for all future marketing growth. Here, I initially ran the client through multiple phases of research to better understand the goals of the design process.

As a human-centered designer, it is imperative that I understand the people for whom I am designing. I begin the process by observing, engaging, and immersing.

EDUCATION


As a constant learner, I am always curious about what motivates people, why they make choices, and how they interact. My undergraduate degree taught me how ideas are communicated, and my graduate degree taught me the importance of empathizing with people throughout the design process.
